  • Location - Maitland preferred, however all DRNSW office locations will be considered.
  • Salary from $120K pa to $133K pa plus super

The Information Management (IM) team within NSW Resources are looking for two Senior Business Analyst’s (BA’s) to lead consultation with business stakeholders and internal technical business units - synthesising and gathering requirements that represent how business is done (as-is) and how business is to be done (to-be) for proposed initiatives and projects, as well as projects identified in the IM business plan.

Role 1: Senior Business Analyst (Development) - Full time ongoing

This role will work with Business SMEs, system developers   and other Information and Management staff to define the target outcomes, gather requirements, support technical designs, and manage business buy-in to solutions including user acceptance testing, training, and technical documentation.

Role 2: Senior Business Analyst (Projects) - 3 years full time fixed term contract

This role will define target outcomes, gather requirements, prepare business cases, support prioritisation, and assist to manage our portfolio pipeline. You will work with business managers and SMEs, system architects, external vendors, your colleagues in Information Management and other project/initiative stakeholders.

For specific Business Plan/priority projects, you will participate in technical designs, and manage business buy-in to solutions including user acceptance testing, training, and technical documentation.

For both roles you’ll be:

  • Familiarising yourself with the NSW Resources core business activities across the group, in addition to the Information Management Team responsibilities and key business applications
  • Reviewing and analysing the business requirements, gaps and rules required to implement the identified projects (ensuring they are multifunctional and have multipurpose usability and supportability) and initiatives – working closely with the business stakeholders, SMEs and Information Management team.
  • Collaborating on scope options and supporting initial technical design and delivery of solutions
  • Understanding strategic business needs and plans for growth – when analysing requirements and proposing solutions by utilising IT data and conducting validation activities to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Analysing the design of systems, workflows, processes, and business models and making recommendations

You’ll have autonomy in making day to day BA decisions within projects and thus, previous BA experience is required.

  • An analytical mindset and attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • A collaborative approach to your work.
  • An understanding and appreciation of working within Agile and Waterfall project management frameworks.
  • Experience in ServiceNow and Pega
