About the team:
Local Land Service (LLS) is a regional-focused NSW Government agency delivering quality customer services to farmers, landholders and the wider community. We help people make better decisions about the land they manage and assist rural and regional communities to be profitable and sustainable into the future. To support LLS initiatives, we are looking for a capable and committed spatial systems professional to join our ICT spatial team in the design and delivery of better spatial analytics and business systems. The role is responsible for administering our ArcGIS infrastructure, developing and supporting ETL processes for data to feed into our business systems, delivering a range of services to meet the demands of our internal and external customers.


As the GIS Officer, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain spatial databases, applications, and spatial data workflows.
  • Conduct spatial analysis and data modelling to derive insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity within GIS databases and applications.
  • Provide technical support to stakeholders on GIS tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Follow strict cyber security policies and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate across a multidisciplinary team to implement spatial solutions.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Proven experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS desktop applications and enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of database structures and spatial data management.
  • Strong skills in spatial analysis, data modelling, and spatial visualisation techniques.
  • Experience in developing spatial workflows using FME and Geocortex would be advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based GIS solutions and platforms including ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Portal is advantageous.

A current NSW driver licence combined with the willingness and ability to travel across NSW (including overnight stays if required) is also required.
