Local Land Services (LLS) is an Executive Agency related to the cluster. It provides quality, customer-focused services to landholders and the community across New South Wales. What You'll Do:

  • Lead & Inspire: Lead a team of specialists to implement top-notch biosecurity and welfare strategies, ensuring animal health and safety across NSW, as well as providing normal district veterinary duties.
  • Strategize & Innovate: Develop and drive plans that align with the NSW Biosecurity Strategy, engage with communities, and manage resources effectively.
  • Ensure Compliance: Oversee compliance and enforcement to meet national standards, manage surveillance activities, and swiftly respond to emerging biosecurity threats and post recovery programs.
  • Collaborate & Communicate: Work closely with stakeholders, research and provide expert advice, and foster strong partnerships to navigate industry changes and government policies.
  • Commit to Customer Service: Undertake disease investigations and provide advice and analysis to ensure timely response to biosecurity threats. And implement plans and strategies for engagement with the community and other key stakeholders to enhance understanding of the animal biosecurity and welfare functions of LLS.

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Veterinary Science Degree: Must be registrable with the NSW Veterinary Surgeons Board.
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications/Experience: Degree in a relevant field or equivalent leadership and management experience in primary industries or emergency management.
  • NSW Driver Licence: Must be current and willing to travel.
  • Firearms Licence: Ability to obtain a NSW firearms licence and complete required training (AQF AHCVPT203A, AHCPMG304) to be appointed as an Authorised Officer and Stock Inspector.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively, build professional relationships with team members, community members and other external stakeholders. Provide positive customer experiences for our landholders and have initiative to progress and deliver outcomes.
