About the role  

As the Senior Land Services Officer - Land Management, you will have the opportunity to work with rural landholders and stakeholders to provide advice and approvals around the Land Management Framework. The advice you provide will be related to native vegetation best practice and legislative requirements. We’re looking for people to join the team – people who are passionate about the management of native vegetation on rural land. Our team are keen to make a difference by working with landholders to deliver balanced land management outcomes.

Essential requirements

  • A degree in agricultural, environmental, natural resource management, biosecurity and emergency management and/or equivalent level of industry knowledge and experience.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel.
  • Ability and willingness to undertake a police check and medical clearance.
  • Ability to provide timely, accurate advice to our customers and to interpret complex legislation.
  • Have experience using GIS systems, content manager databases and/or identifying flora & fauna.

Operational Focus Activities

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with land managers, delivery partners and stakeholder groups to facilitate the delivery of the project outcomes and foster working relationships.
  • Lead project teams and facilitate implementation of the Local Land Services Act 2013, Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 or other legislative responsibilities.
  • Manage small projects within a team.
  • Fulfil identified emergency management roles in local and State level operations as directed by appropriate delegated managers.
  • Support the development of project specific educational resources and communications material.

Our ideal candidate will have a have a true passion for working with landholders within regional NSW and eagerness to be a part of the Hunter Local Land Services team. You will be able to work independently and as part of a dynamic, busy team.
