About the role

Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development are looking for an Assistant Grants Advisor to join the Contracting, Grant Management & Compliance team to undertake a range of grants administration tasks in accordance with policies, strategies and standards to deliver effective and targeted grants funding.

Assisting in a broad range of assessment and administrative tasks that help the efficient and compliant management of regional and community grants administered by the team, you’ll be contributing to a range of projects, programs, and other initiatives to support regional and community development activities for NSW.

This role supports consistent, accurate and compliant administration of grants funding in an environment with a high volume and variety of tasks, competing priorities and tight deadlines. You will be expected to deliver exceptional customer service to stakeholders, undertake research activities, source and collate information, provide advice and contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, briefings, and other correspondence for senior management.

You will be expected to compile, analyse, interpret and report on data and other relevant information to inform senior managers in achieving business objectives and deliver best practice grant administration.  

To be successful you’ll ideally have:

  • Strong financial and administration skills with contract or grants administration experience preferred.
  • You will have an aptitude for managing data and financial information effectively.
  • An ability to coordinate high volumes of work with a focus on quality and timely reports with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Solid communication skills both written and verbal as well as the ability to manage complex information.
  • You will have the ability to work in a busy environment with competing priorities and projects whilst providing quality customer service to a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, working effectively in team environments, whilst also able to take initiative and work autonomously.
  • Ability to problem solve, be agile and adapt processes to effectively meet the needs of unique and complex projects or programs.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in contract and/or grant management and compliance
