Construction Project Manager 

SUMMARY: Develop & oversee the delivery of civil construction projects in environmentally sensitive areas and undertake asset maintenance programs within a competitive commercial environment.

About the role 

Soil Conservation Service (SCS) is looking for an experienced Project Manager to undertake the design, construction and maintenance of fire trails, land remediation, creek restoration and erosion control works - for both public and private sector clients. 

SCS is seeking a seasoned professional with experience in providing specialist project management services within a commercial business. This role requires experience in the provision of advice ranging from planning and design through to implementation and management of projects to stakeholders and clients. 

The role requires a keen awareness of client and stakeholder needs and an understanding of the importance of delivering projects on time and to agreed budgets. The Project Manager is a hands-on leader with experience in steering small teams to successful outcomes.

 About You 

To be successful in the role, you will need: 

  • Knowledge of project management methodology and/or an understanding of environmental principles, erosion and sediment control, and legislation – ideally with experience in the civil project space, with earthmoving experience, having the appropriate tickets to demonstrate experience in this sector. 

  • Experience in environmental or construction project and site management with experience in the design and implementation of soil and water management plans 

  • Practical working knowledge of fluvial geomorphic principles and the implementation of riparian natural resource projects. 

  • Experience working within an Integrated Management System including the ability to draft and analyse Work Health and Safety site documentation, along with experience in the use of Project Management software will be highly valued.
