About the Role

The Agriculture and Biosecurity group of Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, is seeking a passionate Professional Officer to drive  red imported fire ant management. You’ll provide technical specialist advice and implement and manage research, development, and projects that enhance the regulation and management of invasive invertebrates. You’ll engage with stakeholders across local government, industry, universities, and national eradication programs to share risk assessment findings into existing systems and programs. You’ll undertake field work and emergency response work.

About you

Our ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, response-driven environment. Experience with managing invasive invertebrates, and a strong background in invasive invertebrate management or invertebrate ecology would be ideal. You will be committed to driving practical outcomes for landholders, community groups, and industries.
