Murray Local Land Services are looking for a Risk and Emergency Coordinator to be at the heart of building and promoting a strong culture of risk management in our region.
About the role:
This role is all about making sure we're ready to handle emergencies and keeping our community safe. You'll be working on everything from planning and prevention to response and recovery, ensuring that we can effectively manage any emergencies that arise.
You'll lead the charge in creating comprehensive plans and strategies to manage risks and emergencies. This means working closely with our regional management team, offering expert advice, and taking part in strategic planning sessions.
Collaboration is key in this role. You'll be coordinating with local government bodies, emergency services, and community organizations to ensure we have a cohesive and efficient emergency response framework. You'll also be responsible for organizing training programs and capacity-building initiatives so that our staff and volunteers are well-prepared for any situation.
Another important part of your job will be to keep an eye on how effective our current risk management practices and WHS protocols are. You'll suggest improvements, ensure we're meeting regulatory standards, and maintain accurate records and documentation, promoting transparency and accountability in all our activities.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will need:
- A current NSW Class C Driver Licence
- Willingness and ability to travel across the Murray Region regularly and across NSW when required (including potentially via light aircraft).
- Proven project management and coordination skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in auditing and evaluating projects and programs.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
