About the role

Senior NRM Advisors develop and deliver natural resource management (NRM) programs and advisory services to landholders and the community within South East NSW, developing regional strategic plans and delivering programs to encourage the management of our landscapes and ecosystems to be healthy and resilient. We are looking for an individual who can:

  • Innovate & Advise: Stay ahead with cutting-edge natural resource management and climate adaptation practices and deliver top-notch advisory services tailored to our regional landholders and natural assets.
  • Lead Projects: Oversee NRM programs from start to finish, managing budgets, resources, and ensuring projects hit their milestones.
  • Tackle the challenges of balancing multiple priorities and managing complex NRM issues
  • Strategize & Implement: Contribute to strategic plans and local initiatives, using your expertise to shape effective NRM policies and practices.
  • Facilitate productive discussions and solutions among diverse groups and stakeholders
  • Engage & Educate: Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to champion best practices and enhance the resilience of landscapes.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A degree in environmental science, natural resource management and/or an equivalent level of industry knowledge and experience
  • Strong communication skills to engage with landholders and collaborate with key industries to build partnerships
  • Project Management skills to deliver projects from start to finish
  • Organisational skills to plan and deliver field days/meetings or other initiatives across the region
  • Skills in extension and/or adult education to provide advise to landholders.
  • Have a Current NSW Class C Driver and be willing to undertake regular travel within the South East LLS region.

Local Land Services (LLS) is an Executive Agency of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development. It provides quality, customer-focused services to landholders and the community across New South Wales. This regionally based organisation brings together a wide range of service and advisory functions including agriculture, biosecurity, natural resource management, land management, biodiversity, emergency services and private native forestry.

Our team is there when it matters, on the ground helping landholders with knowledge, networks and local experience.
