About the Role
As a Senior Policy Officer in the Policy & Industry Development team, you will be the go-to expert for strategic policy advice, legislative analysis, and coordination across a range of forestry and fisheries related matters. Your work will have a direct influence on the way NSW approaches primary industry challenges, helping to strike the balance between economic growth, environmental sustainability, and the wellbeing of our communities.
The Senior Policy Officer collaborates with stakeholders to identify emerging issues and develop solutions, as well as supporting the delivery of the Division’s cabinet, legislative and regulatory programs. Your role will be responsible for ensuring policies remain relevant, effective, and supportive of sustainable primary industries.
About You
This role requires a strong team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for innovation. You'll leverage your detailed knowledge of the machinery of Government, including Cabinet and legislative processes and ability to understand and interpret a wide variety of legislation and expertise in policy development, implementation and review. Additionally, you’ll possess a broad understanding of primary industry issues and the relevant policy and legislative framework relevant to the conduct of regulated forestry and fisheries activities in NSW.
