About the Role:
As Principal Inspector – Health, Risk and Compliance, you'll be at the forefront of improving health, safety, and compliance in the NSW mining industry.
You'll lead a team of inspectors and experts, engaging collaboratively with other jurisdictions and providing expert guidance to ensure continuous improvement in regulatory outcomes.
From ensuring proactive compliance programs meet key regulatory objectives to ensuring our data and reporting systems are being used wisely, you'll be making a real impact.
Your role involves overseeing complex projects and regulatory processes related to health, human factors, and psychosocial issues, and providing strategic advice to the Chief Inspector.
This job is all about being proactive in managing risks and preventing incidents, while continually pushing for better health and safety standards in the industry.
To be successful you’ll need:
- Suitable qualifications to be appointed as an inspector under section 18(2)(a) of the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act 2013.
- The ability to work on weekends, back shifts, and respond to incidents outside normal business hours.
- A current Class C driver's licence and the ability and willingness to travel as required.
Things to know about the role:
- Compliance with pre-employment probity screening is mandatory for all roles within NSW Resources.
- Appointment will be subject to the satisfactory participation in a pre-employment health assessment.
