About the Role:
As a Senior Analyst in the NSW Resources Investment Attraction team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the NSW Government’s aim to increase investment in the exploration and mining sector. Your role will involve engaging with key industry, investor and government stakeholders to provide insightful analyses and strategic options that shape effective policies, programs, and strategies to attract mining investment to projects in NSW.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building strong partnerships with the exploration and mining sector, investors and international and Australian governments.
- Developing strategies to increase exploration and mining investment in NSW.
- Managing initiatives to promote industry investment.
- Analysing and reporting industry data to guide NSW Resources' strategy.
- Providing support through consultation, analysis and reports on the industry
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience and Knowledge: A background in, or knowledge of, the exploration and mining sector, including industry trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Analytical Skills: Analytical skills to conduct in-depth analysis and reporting to support strategic development.
- Communication Skills: Great communication skills to explain complex concepts to a diverse audience and write fluently in plain English.
- Collaboration: A collaborative mindset to work effectively with mining companies, industry groups, investors, government agencies, and professional bodies.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to think critically, solve problems, and implement effective solutions and processes.
- Resilience and Adaptability: The capacity to remain composed under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
Essential requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in a discipline such as mining engineering, geology/geoscience, commodity analysis, mineral economics or commerce.
- Compliance with pre-employment probity screening is mandatory and a condition of engagement.
