- Technical Officer Grade 1/3 – Salary from $73,522 to $113,562 per annum plus super and leave loading
The salary offered to the successful candidate will be commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience, as outlined in the Crown Employees (Department of Industry) Technical Staff Award and the Technical Staff Merit Progression Guidelines.

About the Role
The Technical Officer role supports vital research by providing hands-on assistance to the Forest Carbon team. The position involves planning and executing field campaigns, meticulously collecting and managing research data, and ensuring the quality and consistency of sample processing. The role also contributes to data analysis and reporting, maintains WHS systems, and supervises other technical and casual staff, all while adhering to established work standards.
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Qualifications in accordance with Part 2(xvii) of the Crown Employees (Department of Trade and Investment) Technical Staff Award
- Demonstrated experience in field campaign planning and execution, including data collection and management
- Proven ability to process samples to ensure consistency and data quality
- Experience contributing to data analysis and report writing
- Knowledge of and experience maintaining WHS systems
- Current NSW driver's license.
