South East Local Land Services (LLS) is looking for a dynamic Team Leader – Invasive Species and Plant Biosecurity to lead biosecurity operations and programs, and drive state and national strategies at a regional level.

In this role, you will manage multi-disciplinary teams, oversee surveillance activities for emerging biosecurity threats, and engage with key stakeholders to align LLS strategies with government objectives. Your leadership will ensure NSW remains at the forefront of plant health and invasive species management.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and implement NSW’s invasive species and plant biosecurity strategies.
  • Oversee compliance, enforcement, and emergency response programs.
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and work plans across teams.
  • Develop policies, reports, and briefing notes to support strategic decision-making.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment with government and industry priorities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience in leadership and biosecurity.
  • Proven experience in biosecurity, invasive species management, or emergency response.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills to navigate government and industry priorities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, and high-pressure environment.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel as required.
