About the Opportunity
Tocal College is seeking a dynamic and strategic College Business Manager to lead our team in delivering comprehensive administrative, security, and domestic services functions. This temporary full-time role is pivotal to the effective operation of our College and its enterprises, including the CB Alexander Foundation and Tocal Field Days. Key Responsibilities:
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, industry partners, and government bodies to promote collaboration and support for College initiatives.
- Strategic Financial Management: Oversee the financial health of Tocal College and its enterprises, ensuring sustainability through effective business planning and revenue generation strategies.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long term strategies that align with the College’s goals and objectives, fostering growth and excellence in service delivery.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB), Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC), and Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations, preparing necessary reports for stakeholders.
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage projects aimed at enhancing College facilities, programs, and services to meet evolving needs.
- Treasurer/Public Officer Responsibilities: Manage the Tocal Field Days Association’s accounts, payroll, and personnel records, implementing robust financial and security operations while supporting the Secretary of the CB Alexander Foundation and Belgenny Farm Trust.
Key Challenges:
- Keeping up with policies, standards, and guidelines around financial management, ASQA compliance, and workplace health and safety practices.
- Managing multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines and limited resources.
- Communicating and influencing senior managers on best financial practices, particularly those with limited financial backgrounds.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in financial management, strategic planning, and organisational leadership, preferably in an educational or not-for-profit setting.
- Strong understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements (ASQA, AASB, ACNC, ATO).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Essential requirements:
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Business Management or other relevant discipline, or equivalent relevant working experience
- A current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Capacity to obtain a Master Security License
- Current NSW Driver License and the ability and willingness to travel
