About the Role

As Manager, Information and Privacy, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Information and Privacy team, ensuring that DPIRD meets legislative requirements while protecting its interests. You’ll provide expert guidance on information access (including GIPA Act, subpoenas, and Standing Order 52s), privacy laws, and governance matters (as required), advising senior stakeholders, including Ministers Office and Departmental Executives.

Your role is to strike the perfect balance between open government and protecting sensitive information.

What you’ll do:

• Provide expert advice on complex requests for information, ensuring legislative compliance and robust decision-making.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering continuous learning and development.
• Develop and refine policies and procedures to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
• Engage with key stakeholders, including the Ombudsman, ICAC, and Parliament, to manage sensitive disclosures and reviews.
• Assist in governance-related matters, including misconduct investigations and Public Interest Disclosures.

• Expertise in Government Information (Public Access) Act, Privacy & Personal Information Protection Act, and related governance legislation.
