About the Role
In this dynamic role, you'll be a key player in shaping public perception and promoting the Department's achievements. From crafting compelling media materials to building strong relationships with stakeholders across the Department, you’ll hold a variety of responsibilities in this role.
Here's a glimpse into your day-to-day:
- Develop engaging media strategies that promote the Department’s position, achievements, programs and responsibilities.
- Develop high-quality media releases, communications strategies, media responses and pitches, ensuring clear and concise messaging that resonates with target audiences.
- Proactively identify media opportunities and respond to inquiries, keeping the Department at the forefront of the conversation, ensuring consistency in messaging and alignment with the Government’s strategic position on identified issues.
- Monitor media channels and stay abreast of emerging trends and key issues impacting regional NSW.
- Work effectively with diverse stakeholders across the state, designers, and subject matter experts to develop impactful communication materials.
- Organise and support media events that foster community engagement and stakeholder collaboration.
About You

- A solid track record of developing and delivering media content across various channels and responding to contentious issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong connections with stakeholders and media representatives.
- A strong command of the written word and the ability to translate complex information into clear, concise messages.
