About the Role
As the Program Leader Aquaculture, you will focus on leading and shaping the aquaculture industry in NSW by providing strategic advice on legislation and policy, manage key projects, and building strong relationships with various stakeholders. Your role will help drive sustainable development and address complex issues within the aquatic and terrestrial environments by negotiating solutions whilst ensuring compliance with government requirements and standards. You will also lead an administrative team processing aquaculture permit and lease applications and managing client debtor accounts and data.
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in aquaculture, natural resource management, environmental science or public policy
- Extensive experience in policy development and implementation and working across agencies
- Extensive knowledge of the NSW aquaculture industry
- Thorough understanding of the development and implementation of planning and regulatory frameworks for natural resource management and administration for freshwater, estuarine and marine aquaculture
- Project management and team leadership skills
- Ability and willingness to drive and travel for work purposes.
