About the Role

The Agriculture and Biosecurity Group plays a vital role in protecting, supporting, and developing sustainable, future-ready agricultural and biosecurity sectors across NSW. Through its work, the group shapes the future of agriculture and safeguards the state’s biosecurity.

As a Project Support Officer, you will provide essential support to research and development (R&D) projects across the Agriculture & Biosecurity group. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising and supporting project staff in budget development, project financial management and project closure.
  • Assisting teams to use corporate project and financial management systems effectively.
  • Supporting proposal development, funding applications, contract preparation, and approval processes.
  • Preparing project reports on performance, milestones, expenditure, and revenue to inform decision-making.
  • Providing data and information for reconciliation, contract management, and reporting processes.

This role is critical in ensuring projects meet governance and compliance requirements while delivering under tight deadlines and competing priorities.

About You

You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and thrive in a structured environment. You bring:

  • Strong skills in project coordination and administration.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with project management systems and financial processes.
  • A collaborative approach to working with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Expertise in using Departmental systems:  MyWorkzone, MyOutcomes and Content Manager
