As a Paralegal, you will play a key role in providing timely and effective legal and administrative support to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services across DPIRD. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the protection and development of NSW’s primary industries and regional communities.  

What you’ll do 

  • Provide efficient legal and administrative support to the Legal  Branch. 
  • Research and analyse legal issues (using LexisNexis, Jade, Court websites and NSW legislation websites) to assist in the provision of advice. 
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with government requirements. 
  • Coordinate working groups, committees, and secretariat support. 
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve business outcomes. 
  • Review and redact documentation for Standing Orders, assist with the collation of documents for litigation, prepare and manage outsourcing requests 
  • Managing and adding matters to our Legal portal including obtaining evidence from business areas to assist with inquiries 
  • Drafting documents as required to support the Legal Branch. 
 
What we’re looking for 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in paralegal or legal studies. 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to act with integrity and maintain confidentiality. 
  • Proficiency in technology and records management systems.
