  • Competitive salary from $149,739.00 – $173,174.00 pa + superannuation (Clerk 11/12)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to manage NSW’s honey bee industry development program. This role leads research, development, and adoption initiatives, provides expert policy advice, and builds strong partnerships with industry, research organisations, and government agencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a high-performing team to deliver research and development outcomes for the honey bee industry.
  • Driving strategic programs aligned with DPIRD’s RD&E Strategy.
  • Managing projects, budgets, and contracts to ensure timely and effective delivery.
  • Providing expert technical and policy advice on honey bee industry issues.
  • Building collaborative relationships with industry, research bodies, and stakeholders.
  • Contributing to emergency response and recovery initiatives related to biosecurity and natural disasters.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree or postgraduate qualifications in agriculture or science-based disciplines, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Extensive experience in program development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of the NSW honey bee industry and its key drivers.
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
