 About the role

This role provides strategic direction and leadership across a range of corporate enabling functions, including governance, finance, and reporting. You will be responsible for managing the financial performance of the Agriculture & Biosecurity Group, ensuring alignment with best practice integrity, governance, and risk frameworks. Additionally, you will lead the delivery of a portfolio of key programs of work within the Agriculture & Biosecurity sector, making a significant impact on the organization's success and contributing to the advancement of these critical industries.

About you

As the Director Business Operations and Governance, you will provide strategic direction and leadership across a diverse range of corporate enabling functions, including governance, finance, and reporting. You will play a crucial role in managing the financial performance of the Agriculture & Biosecurity Group, ensuring that the Group adheres to best practice integrity, governance, and risk frameworks. Your expertise will be instrumental in steering the organization towards achieving its strategic objectives.

In addition to financial oversight, you will lead the delivery of a portfolio of key programs of work within the Agriculture & Biosecurity sector. This multifaceted role requires a proactive approach to leadership and a commitment to excellence, as you work to enhance the impact and effectiveness of our initiatives.

You will be a person who will

  • Ensure a consistent and timely management response to organizational challenges across the Group and Department, aligning these responses with executive decision-making processes. Your ability to navigate complex situations will be key to maintaining organisational integrity and effectiveness.
  • You will thrive in a high-pressure environment able to work towards tight timeframes, where you can deliver a coordinated and considered strategic advice and solutions in a politically sensitive framework.
  • You will have high level stakeholder management skills able to consistently deliver a cohesive problem-solving approach ensuring alignment with Departmental requirements, helping to effectively advance the goals of the Agriculture & Biosecurity Group.
