  • Temporary opportunity to 30 June 2026 
  • Part-time role at 23 hours per week
  • Location negotiable within Central West NSW region – regional location encouraged/hybrid working supported 
  • Salary ranges from $113,574.00 to $125,720.00 + super & leave loading 

 

Local Land Services is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Land Services Officer - Agriculture Advice to join our Central West Local Land Services team, playing the role of a mixed farming advisor.

 

About the Role

This role will provide direct support and technical input into paddock-based demonstration sites and field trials, including design, establishment and monitoring and evaluation. This role is responsible for engaging with local producers, advisors and industry representatives to provide extension of sustainable agricultural best practice and new and emerging technologies and production improvements through field days, written and video resources across multiple communication pathways. 

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have a passion for sustainable agriculture, strengths in project management, stakeholder engagement, and demonstrated experience providing extension and advisory services to farmers and land managers.

You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with agricultural stakeholders, and providing technical extension and advisory support to Central West LLS producers.

What you need for the role:

  • A degree in agricultural science, environmental management, natural resource management, biosecurity and emergency management, and/or an equivalent level of industry knowledge and experience
  • Strong communication skills to engage with landholders and collaborate with key industries to build partnerships
  • Organisational skills to plan and deliver field days/meetings or other initiatives across the region
  • Provide agricultural (livestock and/or agronomy) advise to agricultural producers
  • An understanding of the needs and issues facing landholders and stakeholders in adapting to climate variability, meeting market demands and in achieving sustainable agricultural outcomes.

Essential Requirements

  • A degree in agricultural, environmental, natural resource management, biosecurity and emergency management and/or equivalent level of industry knowledge and experience
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel
  • Ability and willingness to undertake a police check and medical clearance

What to Expect Next
