Local Land Services is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Landscape Extension Officer to join our team and deliver natural resource management advice and services to the North West.
About the Role
As a Senior Landscape Extension Officer, you will work within regional NSW, supporting farmers and communities to care for land and landscapes that are productive, resilient and sustainable. This role delivers high quality advisory and extension services, translating science, policy and local knowledge into practical outcomes through advice, field days, written and video resources that improve natural resource management and agricultural productivity. At times you may manage complex projects, support the implementation of land management legislation and contribute to strategic planning that shapes long term outcomes for landscapes and communities.
You will build trusted relationships with landholders, industry, community groups and government partners, fostering collaboration to address complex and often competing land use challenges. Through strong governance, evaluation and continuous improvement, you will help deliver programs that create real and lasting value across the region.
About You
We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional who is passionate about working with landholders and communities to achieve healthy, productive landscapes. You bring strong technical capability, strengths in project management, stakeholder engagement, and demonstrated experience providing extension and advisory services to farmers and land managers.
To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following:
- A degree in agriculture, environmental science, natural resource management, biosecurity or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively to deliver extension and advisory services to rural landholders and stakeholders
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to analyse information and prepare clear, high-quality reports and recommendations
- Well-developed collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Confidence interpreting and applying legislation and policy in field based and community settings
- A commitment to integrity, safety and service excellence, including participation in emergency management activities when required
Essential Requirements
- A degree in agricultural, environmental, natural resource management, biosecurity and emergency management and/or equivalent level of industry knowledge and experience
- Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel
- Ability and willingness to undertake a police check and medical clearance
