  • Permanent ongoing opportunity 
  • Full-time role at 35 hours per week 
  • Maitland preferred, however all DPIRD office locations will be considered
  • Salary ranges from $149,739.00 - $173,174.00 + super & leave loading 

 

About the Role

The Manager Business Improvement is focused on implementing changes to improve service delivery, efficiency and productivity in the administration of exploration and mining authorisations across NSW. 

This role will be responsible for creating and streamlining our processes to optimise efficiency while ensuring legislative compliance. Working closely with policy and operational teams to help identify legislative improvements, you will also lead the implementation of legislative reforms against established timeframes and to a high standard, to support a smooth transition for customers and operational staff when changes are introduced.

 

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will bring:

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to work across operational and technical teams
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate complex challenges, risks and adapt to evolving situations.
  • Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to focus on building team culture, productivity and collaboration.
  • Experience in navigating regulatory frameworks and implementing business process and operational continuous improvement to support compliance, and the ability identify risks, gaps and recommend practical solutions.
  • Extensive experience in project management and implementation. 

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (such as law, planning, environmental science, geology, mining engineering, business) and/or experience in a related discipline such as project management, business improvement, business analysis, change management or risk management.
  • Compliance with pre-employment probity screening is mandatory and a condition of engagement.
