- Technical Assistant Grade 1/3 starting from $34.70 per hour.
About the Role
The Agriculture & Biosecurity team are currently seeking a casual Technical Assistant to support laboratory and field operations, conducting research within the citrus evaluation team in DPIRD Horticulture.
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Experience with citrus in field and nursery environments.
- Experience in field sample collection and managing research trees with minimal supervision.
- Capability in collecting, recording, and managing accurate research data from replicated experiments.
- Capability in operating and maintaining field and laboratory equipment to required standards.
- Understanding of WHS and QMS requirements, including SOPs and SWMS.
- Knowledge of work standards under Technical Staff Merit Progression Guidelines.
Essential criteria:
- Basic horticultural experience with a minimum of nursery experience.
- Qualifications in accordance with Part 2 of the Crown Employees (Department of Industry) Technical Staff Award.
- Ability to fulfil the physical requirements of the role.
- Valid NSW Driver License and ability and willingness to travel in varying conditions.
