About the Role
This role develops and delivers innovative stakeholder engagement strategies to support the Shark Management Program, building strong partnerships and coordinating events, forums and workshops. It works closely with internal and external stakeholders to shape communication materials, identify opportunities and risks, and ensure engagement approaches align with departmental priorities. The position also monitors political and external developments to assess emerging issues and reputational risks, supporting informed decision‑making and effective engagement across the program.
About You
You are a proactive and strategic communicator who excels at building strong stakeholder partnerships and delivering high‑impact engagement activities. You confidently design and implement innovative strategies that support departmental priorities and elevate the Shark Management Program’s reputation. Skilled at coordinating events, forums and workshops, you foster collaboration and shared objectives across diverse groups. You stay attuned to political and external developments, identifying emerging issues and reputational risks to guide informed decision‑making. By working closely with internal teams and industry partners, you gather insights that shape effective communication materials and engagement approaches. Your ability to recognise opportunities, manage risks and maintain positive relationships ensures you contribute meaningfully to the program’s success.
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience
- Ability and willingness to work irregular hours and weekends
- Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.
