About the role
We are currently seeking an Engineer to join NSW Public Works (NSW PW) within the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD).
The role works collaboratively with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, safe, and compliant technical outcomes that support organisational and client objectives.
This position is ideal for an engineer looking to consolidate technical skills while gaining exposure to public sector frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery environments.
About you
You are a motivated and capable engineering professional who performs well in a project‑based environment. You bring strong technical capability, sound judgement, and effective communication skills, enabling you to work collaboratively with stakeholders and contribute to the delivery of quality infrastructure outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Actively contribute to engineering project teams by delivering assigned tasks and working under the guidance of senior engineers to support high‑quality and innovative project outcomes.
- Assist in project delivery by ensuring tasks are clearly scoped, monitored, and delivered within agreed timeframes and budgets through regular review and reporting.
- Have a Tertiary qualifications in civil / structural / chemical / mechanical / geotechnical /environmental / electrical / engineering with eligibility for membership (Chartered Engineer) of Engineers Australia.
- Demonstrate good communication skills, the ability to work effectively within a team, and a sound understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and requirements.
