  • Location: Willing to consider candidates across all NSW locations. Preference will be given to candidates based regionally, with a focus on Queanbeyan, Armidale, Dubbo and Coffs Harbour
  • Clerk Grade 9/10 – Salary from $129,464 up to $142,665 per annum (FTE) plus super and leave loading

About the Role
As Senior Fisheries Manager, you will lead the delivery of priority fisheries programs, policy and services that support sustainable outcomes across NSW. The role is responsible for maintaining continuity of critical business operations, including Section 37 permits, LMPS, the Aboriginal Fishing Trust Fund, advisory council meetings and general enquiries, while also providing high-quality advice on legislation, policy and program matters. You will build strong relationships with communities, fishers, associations, advisory groups and government stakeholders, represent the Department in meetings and forums, and help drive practical outcomes in a complex and fast-moving environment. Leading a small team of three staff, you will play an important role in service delivery, stakeholder engagement and ongoing program commitments, while enjoying the wider benefits of working in the NSW public sector, including meaningful work and career development opportunities.

About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Experience leading policy, programs or services in a complex environment
  • Strong stakeholder skills and confidence working across diverse groups
  • Ability to influence outcomes and manage sensitive or complex issues
  • Experience leading, coaching and supporting a high-performing team
  • Strong writing skills, including briefs, reports and correspondence
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and deliver results under pressure
  • Knowledge of fisheries, natural resource management or relevant legislation.
