About the Role
As Site Manager within our Research Services team, you will oversee the day-to-day operations, assets, and infrastructure of our Ourimbah and Somersby sites. Leading a small operational team, you will manage budgets and ensure facilities are safe, secure, and running efficiently. This role requires balancing the competing resource demands of diverse research programs while building strong relationships with local industry partners and the community to maximise the site's value and impact.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the sites’s infrastructure, resources, and production systems, ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently, and to a high commercial and research standard. Working closely with site leaders, DPIRD researchers, and commercial partners, you will oversee operations spanning crops, pastures, building and site management.

This is a hands-on leadership role where your decisions directly influence research outcomes, commercial performance, and the long-term sustainability of the site.

Our sites are a multi-agency research hub. Our sites support a diverse range of DPIRD research programs and collaborative projects with industry partners. About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Proven experience in technical facilities management within a service delivery environment
  • Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of operational and administrative staff 
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with researchers, contractors, and external suppliers
  • Proven experience proactively managing site safety, security, and compliance with WHS legislation 
  • Experience managing operational budgets and following legal procurement guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently plan work programs and allocate resources to meet diverse project demands
  • Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.

Essential criteria:

  • NSW Driver licence
  • Forklift Licence (or ability to obtain)
  • AQF3/4 Chemical Accreditation (or ability to obtain)
