In the Business Manager role, you will act as the central point of coordination for executive, operational and strategic matters—providing high-level advice, managing communications, and ensuring the smooth delivery of branch priorities. You will play a key leadership role in enabling decision-making, driving business improvements, and supporting complex policy and reform initiatives. 

Your day to day may look like: 

  • Deliver high-quality briefs, correspondence and reports for senior executives and Ministers 
  • Provide strategic advice and manage sensitive, complex issues 
  • Coordinate governance, reporting and executive support functions 
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to enable collaboration and outcomes 
  • Support planning, budgeting and performance reporting 
  • Identify risks and drive timely issue resolution 
  • Improve systems and processes to enhance efficiency 
 
We are looking for  
  • Proven experience supporting senior executives and providing strategic advice 
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise briefs 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities 
  • Skilled at navigating complex stakeholder environments 
  • Sound understanding of government processes 
  • Demonstrates discretion, integrity and good judgement 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent senior experience
