- Clerk Grade 11/12 – salary from $154,231 to $178,369 per annum plus super and leave loading
About the Role
As the Manager Biosecurity & Emergency Management Communications, you will lead the strategic communications and engagement activities that support NSW's biosecurity preparedness and emergency response functions. Working closely with senior leaders, government agencies, industry stakeholders and communities, you will develop and deliver communication strategies, public information campaigns and engagement programs that build awareness, strengthen preparedness and support effective responses to biosecurity threats and emergencies. This is a unique opportunity to influence high-profile outcomes, provide expert advice on complex issues, and lead a team delivering communications that help protect NSW's economy, environment and communities.
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience leading strategic communications and stakeholder engagement in complex or high-profile environments.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, audience-focused messages.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across government, industry and community stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience developing high-performing teams and fostering a collaborative culture.
- Sound judgement and resilience to manage competing priorities, emerging issues and sensitive communications in a fast-paced environment.
Essential criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, media, public relations, journalism or similar and/or equivalent experience.
- Current NSW drivers’ licence and the ability and willingness to travel
- Preparedness to participate in Emergency responses as part of the Incident Management Team
