About Us

Local Land Services (LLS) is an Executive Agency of the Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development. We deliver quality, customer-focused services to landholders and communities across the state. Our locally based teams provide expert advice and support across agriculture, biosecurity, natural resource management, land management, biodiversity, emergency services, private native forestry and aboriginal engagement.

About the Role

The Senior Strategy and Planning Officer will work collaboratively and engage with the LLS Board, 11 local boards and senior management in the development and implementation of strategic projects that support the effective adoption of LLS’ strategy and planning framework.

 

We are looking for an individual who can:

  • Promote, develop and implement state-wide strategy and planning initiatives that deliver the objectives, support the strategic needs and meet the performance expectations of LLS.
  • Provide guidance, consult and collaborate widely on initiatives that support adoption of LLS strategic direction and priorities.
  • Adopt and promote systems and processes that support LLS to meet its legal, government planning and stakeholder obligations
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships and stakeholder networks that support achievement of LLS’ strategy and planning objectives.
  • Collect and analyse information to support development and delivery of state-wide strategy and planning projects, inform high-level advice, reports, briefs and recommendations, and monitor and evaluate project performance.

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to connect with people that can demonstrate:

  • Experience in analysing, developing, writing, reviewing, updating and promoting strategy and planning frameworks (or similar tools) that support the delivery of organisational priorities and outcomes.
  • Proven ability to provide expert advice and work collaboratively with staff from a range of business units.
  • Practical understanding of one or more of LLS’ Programs, including biosecurity, natural resource management, agriculture, invasive species or public land management.

You’ll also bring:

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent work experience. 
  • Strong analysis, engagement and writing skills. 
  • A desire to contribute to better outcomes for NSW’s rural industries and communities.
