About the Role
The Finance Team within Local Land Services, part of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development is seeking a highly motivated Senior Finance Analyst.
As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting Local Land Services' financial planning and management accounting functions. Working closely with Finance Business Partners, budget owners and senior leaders, you will provide high-quality financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting that supports informed decision-making across the organisation. You will analyse business performance, identify risks and opportunities, deliver meaningful insights, and contribute to the development of robust financial plans and forecasts.
This role offers the opportunity to build strong partnerships across a diverse and geographically dispersed organisation while driving continuous improvement in financial processes, systems and reporting.
About You
You are an experienced finance professional with strong management accounting, budgeting and financial analysis expertise. You enjoy working collaboratively with stakeholders, translating complex financial information into clear and practical insights, and providing trusted advice that supports sound business decisions. With a keen eye for detail and a naturally curious mindset, you are comfortable analysing data, challenging assumptions and identifying opportunities to improve performance and processes.
You bring strong organisational and communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment. Whether partnering with budget managers, contributing to strategic planning, or supporting continuous improvement initiatives, you are motivated by delivering quality outcomes and building positive relationships that enable organisational success.
You will have (essential):
- Relevant financial qualifications such as membership in recognised accounting body or extensive relevant practical experience
- Strong organisational skills with a problem-solving attitude, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
