About Policy Reform & Evidence (PR&E)

The Policy, Reform and Evidence (PR&E) Division designs and delivers evidence-based legislation, policy and strategic initiatives that cut across regional portfolios and require coordinated problem-solving and bold innovation.  Boosting regional workforces, particularly to deliver essential services such as policing, health, education, aged care and child-care, is a key priority of PRE to address current critical gaps.

About the Role

As a Project Officer within the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of complex, evidence-based projects that contribute to the growth and prosperity of regional NSW. Working within the Policy, Reform and Evidence Branch, you will coordinate a range of project activities, provide high-quality advice and reporting, and support the successful implementation of strategic programs and initiatives that help make regional NSW an even better place to live, work and invest.

This diverse role will see you manage project documentation, prepare briefs and reports, monitor project progress, coordinate regional events and stakeholder engagements, support governance and secretariat functions, and assist with procurement activities. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, balancing competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.

About You

We are seeking a proactive and adaptable professional with strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills who enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that support regional communities, economic development and evidence-based policy outcomes across NSW.

You are experienced in contract management and stakeholder engagement, with a strong attention to detail and a process-driven approach. You are comfortable talking to new people and make others feel at ease when engaging with you.

You understand the administrative responsibilities that come with program management support, contract management and event coordination, and you have an eye for detail while working autonomously to meet deadlines.

A positive and proactive workplace culture is important to you, and you are an enthusiastic self-starter.
