Transport Liaison Officer - Student Support - Multiple Positions North, South, North West, Various
Within this context the Transport Liaison Officer will coordinate the day-to-day operations, planning and rostering of Bus Attendants for students with disability across DECYP schools, to ensure safe, reliable, and equitable access to educational opportunities for students eligible for support. This role is required to liaise with key stakeholders including, families, schools, transport providers, DECYP business units. and the Department of State Growth to understand and address transport needs and resolve challenges.

Child Safety Officer - Child Safety Service North - 988881 North
The Children, Young Persons and their Families Act 1997 provides the legal mandate for the department to take action to protect children and young people from abuse and neglect and promote their safety stability and development. Child Safety Workers have a specific statutory role in protecting children and young people from harm and promoting their rights and healthy development. In Tasmania, Child Support Officers work within a legislative framework, the Child Protection Practice Framework, and the Child Protection Professional Practice Standards (attached). Child Safety Officers are responsible for receiving, investigating, and assessing notifications of children at risk of harm from abuse or neglect. They work with families and other professionals to resolve problems and keep children safe. In circumstances of severe risk, Child Safety Officers may be involved in legal interventions in the Magistrates Court. Child Safety Officers have sound self-management skills, self-awareness, and emotional maturity, with the ability to understand the personal impacts of child protection work and strategies for managing stress and building resilience. It is important that Child Safety Officers have the ability to conduct work with integrity and honesty, adhere to confidentiality requirements, and demonstrate a commitment to working with children, young people, and their families.
Principal Program Officer - Attainment Support - 980186 To be negotiated
Within this context the Principal Program Officer will oversee program delivery supporting Senior Secondary Curriculum and Attainment. The incumbent will undertake workflow monitoring and tracking, through research and analysis to ensure the successful implementation and review of business unit projects and priorities in alignment with broader objectives. The role will have a continuous improvement focus and will facilitate change and improvement initiatives, together with the development and provision of strategic advice to support improved outcomes for children, young people, and their families in Tasmania.
Youth Justice Practice Learning and Development Lead - Practice Learning & Development - 980196 Statewide
The Practice Lead – PLD (Youth Justice) is responsible for leading the design, coordination, and delivery of professional learning and development initiatives for staff working in Community and Custodial Youth Justice settings. The role ensures that training is responsive to emerging practice needs, informed by evidence and policy, and contributes to improved outcomes for children and young people. The position leverages advanced expertise as a social worker to guide the development and delivery of training and professional learning that is trauma informed, ensuring staff are equipped to provide safe, responsive, and therapeutic services. This includes translating complex practice guidance and review findings into meaningful learning experiences that uplift professional practice and promote high-quality service delivery across the Youth Justice system.

The Social Worker – EAL operates across both school and community sites as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, delivering social work services that support school staff, EAL students, and families. In this role, the incumbent will support an assigned network of schools by addressing student well-being and helping children navigate complex settlement and trauma-related challenges. The incumbent will provide expert guidance to the Department on school social work responsibilities for children from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. Additionally, the incumbent will lead initiatives to build capacity and promote best practices—whether within the Social Work team or the broader school setting—as directed by the principal and/or Supervisor.
