IT Project Manager

About the Role
The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering key information technology projects across the Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst (CEDB). This position plays a central role in ensuring ICT initiatives are delivered on time, within scope and budget, while aligning with the Diocese’s strategic and operational goals.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the IT Project Manager leads cross-functional teams, engages with internal and external stakeholders, and ensures quality and risk management processes are effectively applied throughout the project lifecycle.
Your day-to-day may involve:
- Developing comprehensive project plans with clearly defined objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Leading teams and engaging vendors and consultants to deliver project outcomes.
- Monitoring progress, managing risks, and resolving issues.
- Overseeing budgets, project milestones, and deliverables.
- Providing clear and timely communication to all stakeholders.
- Conducting post-project reviews to document outcomes and lessons learned.
- Using project management tools to manage and report on scheduling, milestones, and progress.

About You (Selection Criteria)
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Manager, with direct experience in IT projects highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile, MS Project).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong IT skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead and work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on solution delivery.
- High level of personal integrity and discretion when managing sensitive or confidential information.
- A formal qualification in project management is highly desirable.
- Ability to be able to work out of our Bathurst office.
- A commitment to supporting the mission and purpose of Catholic education within the Diocese.
