Play a vital role in undertaking routine mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance, installation and modification work and troubleshooting tasks.
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintaining pumps, valves and mechanical equipment associated with pipelines and bulk water storages
- Gathering information and monitoring performance of plant and equipment to ensure its safe, reliable and efficient operation
- Identifying, reporting and correcting workplace hazards and defects in a timely manner
- Managing contractor activities in conjunction with supervisors to provide information and safe access to assets
Working for Sunwater involves a 9-day fortnight based on Monday to Friday and Monday to Thursday working weeks. You will also be required to participate in a 1 in 2 on call roster.
As Sunwater operates several pump stations in the Gladstone regional area, this role would suit someone based around or near Gladstone or surrounding locations.
We are seeking a suitable tradesperson with the ability to participate actively in a team environment. You will hold Qualifications as a fitter or other suitable trades and have a Class ‘C’ driver’s licence.
You will also bring:
- The ability to perform the manual task requirements of the position and work in confined spaces
- Well-developed computer, diagnostic and technical skills.
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Experience with pumps and/or pipelines will be highly desirable
