Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking an energetic and qualified individual to execute an aggressive talent acquisition strategy, with a key focus on producing results in a fast-moving, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who can direct all recruitment activities to process and hire Correctional Officers statewide. Under the direction of the Talent Acquisition Administrator, this position exercises independent judgement in the coordination and administration of all aspects of recruiting, which include, but not limited to: sourcing, screening, testing, and preparing qualified applicants to attend the Correctional Officer Training Academy (COTA), ensuring compliance with ADCRR policies and federal and state regulations. This true leader will focus on teamwork, marketing strategies, building relationships in the community, and compiling executive reporting.

Job Duties:

- Manages recruitment staff at Central Office to include providing direction, leadership, mentoring, and coaching
- Oversees applicant testing procedures to ensure recruitment goals are met
- Ensures monthly visits to high schools and post-secondary educational facilities are being conducted
- Oversees recruitment processing to include new hires and rehires
- Indirectly manages Satellite Recruitment Centers (SRC) to include conducting on-site visits monthly and to maintain a professional proactive team
- Oversees and monitors the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to include the Correctional Officer Vacancy Report, Job Fair Report, applicant contract, applicants tested (passed/failed), no shows, and job offers made
- Schedules and attend meetings necessary to produce expected results
- Meets Correctional Officer hiring recruitment goals
- Develops initiatives for attracting applicants
- Identifies needs and develops action plans
- Manages budget while remaining within an assigned allocation and justifying/requesting additional resources when needed
- Drives on state business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Arizona Revised Statutes, Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Personnel Rules and ADCRR policies and procedures
- State and Nation Workforce trends
- Arizona Peace Officer Standard and Training (POST) rules
- Principles and practices of management and supervision
- Creation and presentation of reports and plans
- Sound correctional and general office practices
- Current recruiting and hiring principles and strategies

Skill in:
- Verbal and written communications
- Initiating and maintaining interpersonal relationships with agency executive staff, other agencies and the public
- Personal Computer, electronic recruitment programs and other Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
- Time management and project management
- Budget development and contract management
- Multitasking, prioritizing, delegation and organization
- Data gathering and statistical analysis to provide information on trends

Ability to:
- Lead and manage a work team
- Work collaboratively with internal and external entities
- Effectively supervise
- Identify problems and develop effective solutions
- Manage multiple projects and changing priorities
- Work independently with minimal supervision

Selective Preference(s):

- Three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience and supervision in talent acquisition in the public or government sector.

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
