Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) School Facilities Division (SFD) is seeking a highly skilled School District Liaison. This role involves providing technical assistance to school districts applying for Building Renewal Grant dollars from the School Facility Budget Fund. Responsibilities include analyzing applications, verifying documents for compliance with policies, and making process recommendations. The liaison will manage various funding applications, including Emergency Deficiencies Correction (EDC), Adjacent Ways, and the Building Renewal Grant (BRG) fund. The liaison will also advise on school designs and multi-jurisdictional facilities and ensure constant communication with districts regarding updates and processes. This position is vital for ensuring that school facilities are well-maintained and that funding applications are handled efficiently and effectively.

Job Duties:
  • Provides technical assistance to applicant(s) in the following areas: preparation of applications, development of reasonable and cost-effective school designs, development of multi-jurisdictional facilities, provide guidance for preventive maintenance programs designed to extend the life of building systems
  • Act as coordinator for school districts requiring building renewal projects
  • Analyzes applications to ensure complete and accurate submittal
  • Assists in the development of Division policies, processes and procedures for evaluating school district applications
  • Provides technical review of design and construction drawings and initial review of financial report to ensure invoices match requested dollars and fall within the project timelines
  • Engage and communicate regularly with assigned districts on all matters regarding building systems; travel to school facilities as needed
  • Create materials for Board meetings
  • Support the assessment process and/or inspection of school facilities within assigned region for compliance once every five years or as required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Google Suite
  • Public Building systems including school facilities
  • Preventive Maintenance Programs for building systems

Skills in:

  • Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
  • Adapting to changing priorities

Ability to:

  • Communicate both written and verbally
  • Coordinate multiple projects over periods of time
Selective Preference(s):
  • Knowledge of School District maintenance and construction processes
Pre-Employment Requirements:

Retirement:
