The Arizona Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for a part-time Animal Health Inspector for our Animal Services Division, working approximately 19 hours a week. The inspector will be responsible for inspection at the Willcox Livestock Auction in Cochise County.
The Animal Services Division protects the public from contagious and infectious disease in livestock, poultry, commercially raised fish, meat, milk, and eggs. We do this by enforcing laws concerning the movement, sale, importation, transport, slaughter, and theft of livestock. In addition, we regulate food processing and manufacturing facilities and conduct substantial food safety and quality inspections of Dairy, Meat, and Egg products produced or stored in Arizona.
Duties to include but not limited to:
• Monitor the health and proper identification of animals moving during shipping season
• Monitor compliance with Beef Council fee
• Handle money and make weekly deposits
• Prepare and appropriately submit activity reports, departmental case reports, time sheets, travel claims and any other related reports in accordance with department regulations
• Work the Willcox Livestock Auction
