Under general direction, has direct responsibility for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of statewide inspection programs for public facing industries that fall under ADOT for regulatory oversight; the authority to conduct compliance inspections statewide for various companies and their examiners; conduct research, prepare statistical reports, handle information requests and correspondence; review/examine permits/licenses/contracts of private and other governmental organizations; read/interpret state laws, Arizona Administrative Code and code of federal regulations; recommend civil penalties based upon inspection findings; examine financial records, inventories and equipment; evaluate the training standards being taught by contracted entities to determine compliance with curriculum training standards and contract/agreement requirements; explain agency policies, procedures and practices regarding any deficiencies; provide a detailed compliance inspection report covering all aspects and make a timely recommendation; collaborates with other departments within ADOT; attend Administrative hearings to provide compliance inspection information. Required to drive a state vehicle for travel.
Two years of experience in an office environment which includes preparing and providing oral and written responses to related questions from the general public, evaluating documents for completeness, high volume of email/phone calls and preparing reports.
A valid Arizona Driver's license.
