Special Agents are the primary field representatives of the Department and act as a liaison to Tribes operating casinos in the State of Arizona. Special Agents are responsible for achieving voluntary compliance with all Compact requirements through the positive relationships and partnerships they develop with their Tribal gaming counterparts. Special Agents monitor gaming and regulatory operations through frequent on site visits conducted at various casinos within the State and investigate actual or suspected violations of the Compact. Special Agents review various reports, documents, and records, conduct certifications of gaming equipment, and perform observations of casino operations to determine compliance with the Compact. Special Agents work remotely and travel frequently throughout the State. Special agents can be civilians or AZPOST certified officers.
Civilian candidates for this position must submit to a criminal history investigation.
AZPOST applicants must complete a background investigation. Applicant hired into an AZPOST positon must have current AZPOST certification or be able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire date through the AZPOST waiver process. ADG will NOT sponsor an applicant to attend a police academy.
