The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services (DTS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Senior/Lead Applications Developer (Senior SQL / .NET AZURE Developer). This position is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex AZURE SQL databases, leading database projects, troubleshooting database performance issues, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring the performance and scalability of data systems by utilizing advanced SQL techniques and best practices. Other responsibilities the Senior SQL / .NET AZURE Developer are maintains and supports Microsoft AZURE App services including C# projects and .NET Framework based applications. This position is also responsible for performing On-Call after hour support when needed.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Diagnose and resolve defects in production environments, prioritizing quick and effective solutions.
- Engage with business analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements, and contributes to completion of functional specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with AZURE App Services based applications.
- Write custom SQL Queries based on need.
- Performance tunes, reviews and recommends improvements to existing codes.
- Develop new cloud native applications to meet functional and technical designs.
- Work to analyze, debug, and resolve defects in applications.
- Support production systems including analyze and resolve production problems in a timely manner, resolving end user service requests as assigned.
- Complete unit and system test application changes to ensure quality of work
This ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Ability to work On-Call after hour support when needed
- SQL, web development and analysis experience.
- Proficiency with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Any relevant professional certifications.

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
