The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Case Manager Unit Supervisor. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.
Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Supervises and directs work activities of subordinate staff; provides necessary training; provides technical advice and assistance to staff regarding development, implementation, or monitoring of member Person Centered Service Plan (PCSP); completes performance evaluations.
- Reviews cases assigned to work unit; assesses needs and assigns case to staff members; reviews Person Centered Service Plan developed by Support Coordinator to ensure member needs are met; ensures assignment area completed within established time lines in compliance with quality standards.
- Attends and facilitates meetings, including but not limited to staff meetings, district supervisory meetings, meetings with representatives of other governmental and community organizations, and district and statewide workgroups.
- Meets with subordinate staff to assist with identifying necessary changes and modifications to Individual Support Plans.
- Develops support plans for the most difficult and complex cases assigned to the work unit; interviews and counsels members and family members; makes modifications to the Individual plan as necessary.
- Reviews, verifies, and authorizes expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints; prepares reported relating to cases assigned to the work unit; completes special projects as assigned, e.g., conducts unit, district, or statewide training as needed.

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period.
