• The Application Support Analyst (Webmaster) is responsible for reviewing and responding to reported software issues and escalations related to the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) applications, including ADE Website, intranet and related systems.
• This role involves routine monitoring, root-cause analysis, remediation, and communication of system errors to ensure proper operation.
• Additionally, the role requires the ability to understand functional requirements and contribute to change requests, product testing, the creation of knowledge base, and user documentation for supported applications.
• This role also involves the creation of website pages, design layouts and graphics.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with both external and internal customers across all levels and divisions of the organization.
• Occasional in-state and rare out-of-state travel is required for this position.
The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.
• Support the planning and testing of new application releases, versions, and/or software patches in support of the agency.
• Works with internal and external resources to implement and maintain functioning applications.
• Timely review and respond to all help desk ticket and email requests regarding the supported ADE IT applications.
• Communicate issue resolutions to customers and ensure customer is satisfied with response.
• Contribute to user documentation, such as user guides and training material, to facilitate business operation.
• Contribute to knowledge base documentation to assist the Service Desk team personnel in Tier I issue resolution.
• Attend training and seminars to keep abreast of current industry trends.
• Participates in the development, publication, and maintenance of public website and intranet elements, embedded widgets, design layout, and graphics in support to agency's content editors, following approved standards of work and procedures.
• Prepares application usage reports, traffic analytics, and other metrics to assist with development and support implementation plans.
• Monitor system performance using existing production monitoring tools.
• Communicate with the respective IT teams to understand the status of system resolutions and keep customers informed about system issues and their resolutions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge in:
• Principles and techniques of application life cycle management
• Project management life cycle and the role of the technical specialist in a project Web programming languages, including Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
• Basic programming principles such as loops, conditionals, sequence, debugging, and visual app development
• Experience with Microsoft applications (SharePoint, Power Platform, others)
• Graphic design tools such as, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Dreamweaver)
• Familiarity with Content Accessibility Standards
• Drupal or similar Web Content Management Systems
• Experience securing websites and web applications using industry best practices
• Experience in managing websites, this can be a combination of a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent working experience

Preference will be given to those applicants with two to four years of experience with Drupal or similar content management solutions.
