Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for an ambitious professional ready for a full time position as the primary Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Coordinator and Arizona Correctional Information System (ACIS) Coordinator, responsible for completed backgrounds clearance on all visitors including inmate visitors, vendors, contracted employees, volunteers, special tours, and specified inmates.
This position also ensures confidentiality of all information and processes warrant checks and sends teletypes to outside criminal justice at the Arizona State Prison Complex - LEWIS.

Job Duties:

- Conducts background clearances on all visitors, including inmate visitors, vendors, contracted employees, volunteers, special tours, and specified inmates
- Maintains logs manually and electronically and ensures confidentiality of all information
- Organizes and files confidential documents and records
- Processes warrant checks and sends to outside criminal justice agencies
- Attends meetings and required training
- Sets up and maintains all user accounts
- Drives on state business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Administrative management practices
- General procurement rules and procedures
- General office practices and procedures
- Business English, spelling, and grammar usage, and filing systems
- Proper telephone etiquette
- Dealing with staff, inmates, and public
- Personal computers, word processing and spreadsheet software
- ADCRR policies and procedures

- Operation of general office equipment
- Data entry
- Report preparation
- Formatting difficult and complex reports
- Writing correspondence
- Written and verbal communication
- Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships

Ability to:
- Work independently and adapt to changing environments and techniques
- Meet deadlines
- Understand, apply and comply with laws, rules, regulations and procedures
- Obtain and maintain ACJIS Certification
- Learn to use various computer equipment, Department of Public Safety systems, and ACIS
- Learn and use ACIS
- Work in a prison environment

Selective Preference(s):

- Must obtain ACJIS Certification within three (3) months of appointment
- Prefer working knowledge of computer programs including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Gmail

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and a drug test.

In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).

Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
