The Arizona State Board for Charter Schools (ASBCS) is seeking an Accountability and Evaluation Manager (AEM) to work in collaboration with the specialized accountability (SPA) team to conduct oversight and evaluation of charter schools. This position is eligible for a remote work agreement working from a home office in the Phoenix Metro area, with bi-monthly days at our Phoenix office and frequent travel to school sites.
As an Accountability and Evaluation Manager, you will:
• Manage and oversee the collection and review of required compliance documentation for schools undergoing a specialized accountability review for oversight, monitoring, and support
• Specifically, serves as one of the team's compliance leads, providing guidance and support to team members when making determinations related to compliance
• Makes decisions and determinations at the site visit of the charter holder/school's compliance as it relates to statute, rule, policy, and the charter contract
• Prepare materials for presentations to the Board related to charter holders demonstrating academic or operational non-compliance
• Develop and maintain relationships with charter operators in order to provide excellent customer service and support as needed
• Implement ASBCS policies and practices to review, respond to, and act upon complaints filed by various stakeholders
• Travel throughout the state will be required, including occasional overnight travel
• Plan, schedule, and conduct site visits to charter schools regarding compliance
• Assists with the development of compliance oversight policies and processes
• Provide specialized assistance to the CSA team related to compliance
This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangements).

• Statutes, rules, policy, best practices, and challenges that impact K-12 education
• Best practices associated with general school operations
• ASBCS' performance frameworks and their policies
• Public charter schools and how they are authorized

The preferred candidate:
• Is pursuing or has earned a two or four-year degree in an area related to the work of the agency (i.e., education, curriculum and instruction, business, nonprofit management, government, project management, public administration, etc.)
• Lives in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area
The ideal candidate:
• Has an understanding of Federal law, Arizona Statute, Board Rule, frameworks, and policies that impact public charter schools
• Has experience in compliance or operations related to the field of the position
• Has experience in a school or classroom setting

• The ability to obtain a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Have a valid Driver’s License
