*This is not a remote position. Museum Educators work a minimum of 24 hours a week over four to five shifts, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am to 5pm and occasional Saturdays from 10am to 2pm*
*Occasional after hours are required. Full-time and part-time positions are available*

The Arizona Capitol Museum is located in the historic Arizona Capitol at the center of Arizona’s state government complex.
The Museum utilizes artifacts, guided interpretation, virtual resources, interactive activities and public programs to educate visitors on Arizona's governmental, political and social history.
The Museum offers free admission and welcomes over 100,000 visitors annually, including many K-12 students.
Museum Educators are the main providers of visitor interaction at the Capitol Museum and do all of the following:
• Greet visitors, answer questions, monitor exhibits and staff the museum gift shop
• Assist with exhibit research, installations and collections projects as needed
• Participate in live Q&A sessions with virtual field trip students
• Prepare educational handouts and exploration materials
• Guide tours of the Museum and legislative chambers
• Approve and confirm status of scheduled tours
• Collect and log visitation statistics
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of Arizona history, government and civics
Skills:
• Public speaking skills, including the ability to speak confidently, clearly and precisely to a large group of people
Ability:
• Ability to explain government and civics concepts to visitors of varying ages and backgrounds
• Ability to feel comfortable and interact socially with visitors
• Ability to lead tours for up to five hours a day
• Ability to memorize and retain facts
• Experience working in a frontline position interacting with the public
• Experience in public speaking and working with children
• Interest in Arizona history, government and civic
• Experience working as part of a team
