• This position is responsible for supporting public education agencies (PEAs) in the recruitment and retention of effective special education personnel in collaboration with other ESS Recruitment and Retention team members by providing guidance on recruitment and retention topics, connecting and collaborating with internal and external partners, empowering educators through the coordination of professional learning opportunities, collecting, analyzing, and reporting special education workforce data, connecting job seekers and employers, and increasing the special education pipeline through grant-funded programs.
• This specialist collects and analyzes data, stays abreast of current research and best practices, and engages in strategic planning with ESS Recruitment and Retention team members to continuously improve and enhance the recruitment and retention of special education personnel in Arizona.
• Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel is required for this position.
The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate. |

The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer evaluates the standards of nursing practice for each specialized program in accordance with all regulatory and professional practice standards as well as applicable state and federal laws.
Directly supervises the Psychiatric Nurse Unit Managers (PNUMs) and staffing office personnel (and other personnel as may be assigned) and provides direction, supervision, guidance, and counseling to subordinate nursing personnel. Establishes and evaluates mechanisms to assure qualified nursing staff is available to provide nursing care 24 hours a day, seven days per week. Responsible for reviewing potential candidates for hire in all nursing positions, as well as promotions. Oversees the onboarding process and maintains rosters of filled and open positions. Works with contracted staff ie. dietary, and pharmacy to ensure compliance with hospital policy, protocols and rules.
Responsible for compliance with rules/regulations/standards from CMS, Joint Commission and State Licensing related to nursing issues. Gathers data related to patient care as well as nursing services practices/processes and provides for a continuous program evaluation and performance improvement activities. Develops and administers policies and procedures related to patient care. Collaborates in developing and managing the budget, position allocation and other related administrative functions. Acts in the capacity of the Chief Nursing Officer when necessary. |

Provides focus, direction, and support for various recovery objectives and directs the activities of the VAL/PSL and DEMA/EM Human Services reservist cadre. The human services coordinator is responsible for performing duties during the response and recovery phase, which includes providing leadership to mass care activities and assisting communities, individuals, families, and businesses in recovering from disaster damages. This includes the Individual Assistance program and the mass care/emergency assistance program, which supports the coordination of Recovery Support Functions (RSF). Personally, prepares for anytime (24/7) response and no-notice recalls to the State or Alternate Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) and/or Joint Field Office (JFO) during disaster or exercise activations. Serves as the Human Services Coordinator in the State Emergency Operations Center. |
